Farmers welcome visitors to come and experience the unique atmosphere of staying on a farm. Many visitors come back, time and time again. For some the peace and quiet of the countryside is the main attraction. For others it is the opportunity to take part in farm life - watching the animals being fed, the lambs playing, milking, cheesemaking or sheep-dog training - and all those other aspects so different from life in towns and cities. Here you can find a great countryside experience with a friendly farmer available for help and advice.

Farm caravans are very special in terms of offering solitude and tranquility and are usually located in a position that allows views over the surrounding countryside. In many cases there will be livestock in the next field! Some farmers are able to provide fresh eggs from their own hens - all part of the great countryside experience.

The caravans featured here are either in or within easy distance of the Lake District, the Eden Valley, the Yorkshire Dales and the North Pennines. A truly outstanding area!

When booking be sure to ask about what you need to take with you in the way of linen and towels. If you are taking a dog be sure to mention this to the caravan owner, as there may be special restrictions at certain times of the year, during lambing, for example.
