Poppy Farm Caravan Park is an attractive landscaped park exclusively for owner occupied static caravans. The park nestles amidst unspoilt countryside, just outside the Lake District National Park, on the northern outskirts of Kendal.

There is one self-catering caravan which is available for holiday letting. The site is adjacent to the family farm with good access from the quiet country lane and there is a car parking space next to the caravan. There is ample space around the caravan, with a seating and a picnic area.

The holiday caravan is 6 berth and measures 36 x 10 feet with two access doors. It is situated within easy reach of the farm and is positioned carefully so as to take advantage of the excellent views of surrounding fields and hills. You can simply step outside your door and take in the fresh air and amazing scenery.

We have a safe and secure play area with a range of equipment set in wood bark chippings. There is also plenty of space for older children to play ball games. The whole area is enclosed. All we ask is that children are supervised to enjoy their play.

There is no public transport within walking distance, but lots of interesting places to eat within easy driving distance.

The site is open between March and October inclusive. Click here for prices.

Our working farm extends to 220 acres (64 hectares). The farm is just outside the Lake District National Park and is included in the Environmentally Sensitive Area. We have a beef suckler herd of 50 cows and young cattle. We also have a flock of 240 breeding sheep.

The cows calve all year round. They are housed during the winter months and then let out to graze during the summer and can be easily seen around the farm.

The sheep lamb from mid March to April and usually rear two lambs. We usually have pet lambs which are hand reared for various reasons. In June, we shear the ewes. Throughout the year, we regularly have the sheep in to carryout routine tasks.

We also have two working border collie dogs and a pet Jack Russel called Millie. In addition we have hens and sell free range eggs. Guests are welcome to view farm activities.
