Shacklabank welcomes visitors whom have an interest in “ the farm and farm life” depending on the time of year and by arrangement you would be welcome too witness many of the annual farm events; new lambs, chicks and ducklings in spring, sheep gathering, shearing and hay making in summer, and daily egg collecting around the farm.

Away from the farm there is so much to do and see in this area of outstanding natural beauty Shacklabank is situated 1 mile outside The Yorkshire Dales National Park and yet only a 30 minute drive from The lake District National Park

On the farm

Facilities in the area include a 9 hole golf course at Sedbergh and an 18 hole course at Kirby Lonsdale, tennis courts in Sedbergh and local caves to explore at Ingleton. Swimming takes place in the River Lune, just 1 mile away, but the more warm blooded may prefer the Leisure Centre in Kendal! Sedbergh is the nearest town, but for the larger shopping expedition Kendal and Lancaster are worth a visit. Kendal town is only 7 miles away, and Shacklabank is only 2 miles from Junction 37 M6 motorway
