Thornthwaite is a traditional family run farm set amidst superb scenery in the Lake District National Park. Overlooking the beautiful Woodland Valley, the whole 500 acre estate can be explored by our guests. We also have 60 acres of ancient woodland and a fishing lake. The area is a birdwatcher’s paradise, with wildlife including deer, foxes and badgers.

The caravans are situated in a large orchard overlooking the picturesque Woodland Valley. A picnic bench and barbeque set are provided.

The caravans have:
  • Lounge :: Very comfortable seating with matching furnishings, colour TV and gas fire.
  • Kitchen :: Well equipped galley style, full gas cooker, microwave, hot water heater and fridge.
  • Bathroom :: Deep showers, washbasin and toilet.
  • Bedrooms :: One double and one twin. Bedding is provided.

Thornthwaite is an ideal base to explore the Lake District and the award wining Furness and Cartmel Peninsula. Broughton-in-Furness is 3 miles and Coniston is 6 miles, both have a good range of shops. All the main supermarkets are within 30 minutes.

So whether you require a walking, sight seeing or just a relaxing holiday our farm is the ideal location, where the well being of our guests is our prime consideration.
